Teachers work part-time jobs
Mr. Gomez BG Lawns & Service I coach after school. I have coached Basketball for 12 years at the Jr/Sr High School levels. I have also coached Volleyball, Golf, and Track. I also own a lawn mowing business. I mowed for the school for four summers and enjoyed it enough to start my own company. I'm starting my fourth summer in the business. I do enjoy mowing and listening to podcasts/music all while making some extra money.
Mrs. Winter I teach Comp 1 & 2 for Butler, and I help my husband with his lawn care and handyman business. We also have rental houses. I enjoy spending time with my husband and I like the exercise. I also enjoy building and fixing things. I have been teaching for Butler off and on for almost ten years.
Ms. Crumrine I am a server at Carlos O' Kelly's East. I have worked there for six months. I enjoy the fast-paced environment and meeting new people. I have met some really sweet people not only my coworkers, but also the customers. Plus, we have the best chips & salsa. I have also worked for my family's store Triple S Ranch Supply in El Dorado off and on for 20 years.
Mr. Day I have been teaching as an adjunct professor at Butler Community College for 5 years. I currently teach General Biology and enjoy it a great deal.
Mr. Scribner I work in ranching and light construction. I have worked in ranching of 28 years and construction for 10 years. I like the change of pace that each job gives me.
Mrs. Moose After school and on Fridays, I teach private music lessons. I have been teaching privately since my freshman year of college. At first, I just taught trumpet, but now I teach vocal students and all band instruments. I enjoy teaching privately for many reasons. Teaching a student without the distractions of 20 other musicians is very calming. I can then isolate specific strengths and weaknesses and in turn, help the student to develop strategies to improve. My favorite part about teaching privately is getting to know the students better than if I just saw them in the regular band class during the day. At times, school can be a difficult place for all students, especially those who are the least bit different from the majority of their peers. In private lessons, that wall can get broken down, and we can comfortably work on musicianship together.
