The BHS Drama and English department will present a Shakespeare Festival. Two showings of a one-act play, Romeo, Juliet, and Toto Too, will be presented on Saturday, November 12. A matinee will be available for $3 at 4 pm. An evening showing will be prefaced with a Shakespeare Festival beginning at 7, with admission for both being $5. At 7 p.m. students in English 10 will present select scenes from the Shakespeare plays Romeo and Juliet, Winter’s Tale, Julius Caesar, Hamlet and Macbeth. A short intermission will follow, and the evening performance of Romeo, Juliet, and Toto Too will begin at approximately 8 pm. Romeo, Juliet, and Toto Too features a movie based upon The Wizard of Oz, only Dorothy and Toto take the wrong fork in the road and wind up meeting Shakespeare characters from Macbeth, Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and The Tempest. Shakespeare himself even makes an appearance! Junior parents will also be offering a potato bar dinner for $5 starting at 5:30 p.m. Attendees of both performances are invited to attend the dinner. Proceeds will benefit the After-Prom. |
