Art Class Perspective DrawingsThe Art I classes spent three weeks on hallway drawings using 1-point perspective. According to Art teacher Branigun Gomez, the students use 1-point perspective to create a work of art from a live setting. One point perspective is used to showcase a 3-dimensional object/area and incorporate depth/space into a flat surface. It is a drawing formula that makes it easier for students to draw objects bigger as they get closer, and get smaller the farther away from the viewer. "We are drawing the hallways because they have a strong features of linear perspectives," senior Clay Hogoboom, who is drawing the hallway from Mr. Day's room to the cafeteria. The students have a few drawings that use perspective before getting to a live setting, this allows them to work on the project and show what they have learned throughout the smaller projects.

English Class Food Nutrition ProjectThe 10th grade English classes researched food nutrition, which led to topics about small farms vs corporate farms, food safety, treatment of animals, feeding of animals being raised for market, GMOs and the food supply in America. With the assignment, the class invited speakers to share their knowledge on these topics. Denise Clothier from Cargill, discussed food safety at the plant, Jewlee Chastain shared pork farming on a small farm. "I was with Austin Cooley and Seth Kernes and we made a brochure titled The Inside Coop," Stark said, "The most important information the group learned was from the guy talking about Tyson."
