The boys' basketball team placed 3rd at the Wilson County Classic Basketball tournament Jan 16-19 at Neodesha.
"We have continued to improve and get better as the season progresses. Going forward we need to continue to get better at boxing out, offensive flow/shot selection, and bringing maximum energy and effort every game," said Coach Wuthrich. The girls' basketball team competed in the Wilson County Classic Basketball tournament Jan 16 - 19 at Neodesha. The girls' varsity team placed third overall bringing home a trophy. "I feel like we played tough competition in the tournament and we played our hardest," freshman Emma Young. "I am looking forward to finishing the varsity season strong with my team."
"The team is really improving in all aspects of the game. "They are playing as a team and all contribute. The girls still need to work on shooting skills (done in the off season) and being physical when rebounding," said Coach Self. Gricelda participates in SkillsUSA, choir and track. Gricelda plans to attend Fort Scott Community College or Cowley County Community College and double major in music and cosmetology. Wrestling Results
The wrestling team participated in the Herrington Tournament on Jan. 7.
The team also participated in the Hoisington dual on Jan. 12 and the team placed 5th. The wrestlers went to the Halstead tournament on the Jan. 13.
On the 19, the team participated in a dual against Douglass and Fredonia. Wrestlers who won their matches include:
Regionals held Feb 17-18, Jayhawk-Lynn. The team competed in regionals. Moran and Fell compete at state Feb 24-25 at Fort Hays.
